What is Bittensor?

Bittensor is a network that pays for useful work.

Usually one company does a job and sells it. On Bittensor, many independent teams compete to do the same job well, and the network rewards the ones that do it best.

The jobs vary a lot. Some are about AI, such as running or training models. Many are not. Teams rent out computing power, forecast weather and markets, store data, test software for security flaws, and help with scientific research.

Anyone can join in. Teams can compete to do the work, and anyone can check it. No single company decides who takes part or who gets paid.
