Weights

Validators score miners by setting weights. A weight is a number a validator gives each miner, showing how much of the reward it thinks that miner deserves.

Each validator's weights are scaled so they add up to the same total. What matters is how a validator splits its judgement between miners, not how large its numbers are.

Not every validator can set weights. Each epoch, only the validators with the most stake behind them hold a permit to do so: up to 64 on most subnets.

A validator's weights are its scorecard. The chain combines everyone's scorecards to decide who gets paid.
