Crypto utility networks live and die by the market. In the bootstrapping phase, token incentives are the only way to attract miners to provide a service. They’re what bootstrapped storage on Filecoin, bandwidth on Helium, and compute on Bittensor. Without incentives, no one plugs in hardware, runs…
Why This Matters There’s a lot of buzz in the Bittensor community right now about subnet deregistration. If you’re new to the ecosystem or just curious, it can feel like inside baseball: What does it actually mean? Why does it matter? Who does it impact? We want to break down the change in simpler…
Aug 19 Written by: Unsupervised Capital Raising capital no longer requires pitching VCs or taking on debt. Hyperliquid climbed into the top 15 crypto tokens by market cap without raising through traditional channels, but financing itself entirely through its token. That success has drawn attention…
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our Smart Allocator, a powerful new tool designed specifically to simplify staking TAO in the Bittensor ecosystem. With Smart Allocator, all the TAO tokens you earn from staking to root will be automatically staked into the top 20 subnets by price, daily…
How does it work? Two Paths, One Wallet When we built Crucible, we wanted to give people real choice in how they used their wallet—whether you’re a seasoned TAO operator or just getting started.
Written by: Seth Bloomberg, Unsupervised Capital It’s been ~1 month since the launch of Dynamic TAO. I wanted to share (1) some data I look at frequently and give some thoughts on how I interpret the numbers, and (2) give some general thoughts on how the first month has gone and where I see some […]
Crucible Labs is the anchor investor in Unsupervised Capital and thrilled to announce the start of this fund. The below article was written by Sami Kaasab, Managing Partner of Unsupervised Capital. Today, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of Unsupervised Capital, a liquid token fund focused…
Originally conceived as a year-in-review report on Bittensor, our project quickly evolved into something more ambitious. We recognized a critical gap: no single, comprehensive resource existed to demystify Bittensor’s complex ecosystem, explain its innovative mechanics, and map its rapid growth…
Join Crucible Labs’ Sami and Seth on the Outpost Podcast as they break down Bittensor’s upcoming Dynamic TAO upgrade and its implications for the network. As heads of emission allocation at Crucible Labs, they offer unique insights into how this major transition will reshape the ecosystem. Listen…
We’ve observed a fascinating diversity across Bittensor’s subnet ecosystem. Some subnets are purely focused on research efforts in specific fields like biochemistry and model training, while others provide immediate utility by solving market needs. These subnets also vary in what they’re…
Developing a robust and hardened subnet on Bittensor is challenging. Subnet owners must constantly monitor activity within their subnet to understand if their incentive design is working as intended. Part of this process of subnet development and monitoring involves investigating the inevitable…
As part of our mission to improve emission allocation on Bittensor, we’re open-sourcing our internal research on the subnet ecosystem. Our approach is sector-based, starting with decentralized training. While many deAI teams are working within this space, most are still in early development or…
Today, 7200 TAO, equivalent to $3.6 million, will be minted and distributed to projects within Bittensor. Assuming TAO’s current price holds, this would represent over $1.3 billion in annual funding to decentralized AI initiatives. At its core, Bittensor is a decentralized platform for launching…
At Crucible Labs, our mission is to help direct emissions to the most promising subnets in the Bittensor ecosystem. The ecosystem has evolved dramatically – from a handful of subnets a year ago to over 50 today, with each focused on providing a unique service or digital commodity. This rapid…
