Validator trust

Validator trust, shown as vtrust on explorers, measures how closely a validator's scores agree with those of the other validators on a subnet. It runs from 0 to 1, and a value near 1 means the validator is in step with consensus.

Vtrust is a good guide to earnings. A validator's dividends come from the part of its scores that matches consensus, built up over recent epochs, and from its stake weight. The stakers behind it share those dividends after the validator takes its cut. A validator that drifts out of consensus sees its vtrust fall, and its dividends fall with it, even if it has a lot of stake.

For a staker, vtrust is worth checking next to the take and the stake. It is measured separately on each subnet, so look at the subnets where your stake sits. Explorers list vtrust in each subnet's validator table.
