Claim my staking rewards

Overview

A recent Bittensor protocol update means staking rewards are no longer delivered to your wallet automatically. You now claim them yourself in Crucible, and any rewards you claim can then be put to work by the Rewards Allocator.

Claim my rewards

1. On your Home dashboard, look for Rewards under Balances. This only appears when you have rewards available to claim.
2. Tap Rewards to open the Claim rewards screen. You'll see your total claimable amount and a list of validators.
3. Select the validator you want to claim from.
4. On the Review screen, check the reward amount, the subnet composition, and the network fee.
5. Tap Confirm to claim.

Understand network fees

Every claim is a transaction on the Bittensor network, so it comes with a network fee. The fee is shown on the Review screen before you confirm.

Important: If your rewards are smaller than the network fee, you'll see a Consider waiting warning. Claiming at that point would leave you with less TAO overall, so it's usually better to let your rewards build up first.

Common questions

Why don't I see Rewards on my dashboard?
The Rewards entry only appears when you have rewards ready to claim. If you've recently claimed, check back once more have built up.

How often should I claim?
That's up to you. It depends on how much you've accumulated and which validators you're claiming from. A good rule of thumb is to claim when your rewards are comfortably larger than the network fee.

Why do I see multiple validators?
If you stake with more than one validator, your rewards are listed separately for each. You claim from each validator individually.

What happens to my rewards after I claim?
If you have the Rewards Allocator turned on, it re-stakes your claimed rewards into subnets based on your strategy.

Do my rewards expire if I don't claim them?
No. Your rewards keep building until you decide to claim
