How many times did you type your wallet password today? Probably more than you'd like. A browser extension locks itself for good reason, and every time it locks, you type your password again. Some people will change their unlock timeout to a longer period to avoid this. It's a tradeoff between convenience and security.
Not anymore! We just added passkey support. Alongside your password, you can now set up a passkey and unlock the extension with the passkey support already built into your Mac or Windows PC.
It works the way you unlock the rest of your computer with Touch ID, Windows Hello or a YubiKey.
Why bother? It's quicker. There's nothing to type and no password to dig up. It's also more secure. A passkey gives an attacker no password to guess or reuse, and it belongs to the app that created it, so a fake page can't collect it.
Your password isn't going anywhere. If the passkey isn't available, you can always fall back to it.
Set up your passkey in the settings of the extension.
